NEWS: Lemmy's ashes were put in bullets and given to his closest friends

Many would agree that late Motörhead bassist and lead vocalist, Lemmy Kilmister, embodied the raw emotion of Rock n roll and over the last few days it's been revealed that the metal legend had his ashes placed in bullets and given to his closest friends. The bullets will forever serve as a reminder of what a badass the rock n roll was right up to his last days. Lemmy died in December 2015 at 70 years old from prostate cancer and heart failure.

Former MTV host Riki Rachtman and Ugly Kid Joe singer Whitefield Crane are among those who received the special Lemmy-engraved bullets. Rachtman shared a photo of the bullet via his social media, captioned the post: “Before his death #Lemmy asked for his ashes to be put in some bullets & handed out to his closest friends. Today, I received a bullet & was literally brought to tears. Thank you, @myMotorhead.”

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that their 2021 single "No Son Of Mine" is a tribute to the late singer, stating: “I wish Lemmy were alive to hear it, because he would see how much an influence he's been to me.”

the bullets were presented on a black cusion inside a transparent box with the name "Lemmy" engraved onto the bullet casing. A letter wich accompanied the bullet read, “We all know Lemmy knew many people, but had few that he considered friends and even fewer that he considered family. Being that you are one of those people he considered family, we would like to share a little piece of him with you.

“Lemmy touched all of our lives in a way we don’t think any of us could forget, but with these ashes you know… you keep Lemmy with you forever. He was Lemmy. He played Rock ‘n’ Roll. Don’t forget him.”
