NEWS: KISS announce a record breaking concert

KISS were a year in to their farewell tour, when Covid put a stop to all concerts. The band has not played a live show since March instead they have been pretty much isolated in their homes with their families, but that has all changed. The band have announced that they will be putting on a New Years eve concert in Dubai and they want it to be massive. KISS are well known for their huge stages and insane fireworks but this concert is set to eclipse all those before, Why? Because it will be a streamed concert from Dubai’s Atlantis Hotel, but it wont be just another live stream, in true KISS fashion they believe that to put on a show for a home audience they need to go bigger, so they are, with one of the biggest production livestreams ever, a massive 76m stage, 50 surrounding 4K cameras to capture every movement in detail and a pyrotechnic show that the band believes will set a Guinness World Record.

The best way to get everybody to enjoy life right now is to make a big resounding noise and shake the heavens with some pyro. – Gene Simmons

“Frankly, I wasn’t interested in doing a stream on the level of Live at the Troubadour in L.A.,” Paul Stanley said. “Not that those aren’t good, but they aren’t KISS. Either we do this right, or we don’t do it. For us, size matters. We don’t have to reinvent the wheel; we invented it and it runs real well. We’re just making sure it’s on a scale and a size that does justice not only to the situation we’re in, but that it makes the people watching at home feel like they’re a part of it.”

You can be rest assured that an event of this size is going to have a hefty budget, an almost 8 figure budget, according to show director Dan Catullo, whose company Landmarks Live is producing the concert. Covid compliance will cost $750 000 to ensure that the 400+ personnel working on the event are kept safe. But the biggest once off expense has to be the Pyrotechnics show which come in at almost $1 Million. Catullo has not given out too much information regarding funding but has said that they have a few major sponsors helping them bring this show to life.

Tickets are available from Tixr.com and start from $39
