NEWS: Power metal like you've never heard before

Majestica is releasing their follow up album, but with a twist.

The Swedish rock group Majestica, previously known as, ReinXeed has taken the world of power metal by storm. The band was formed by Tommy Johansson, guitarist for another Swedish powerhouse band, SABATON.

Majestica released their first album after their name change, Above The Sky, in 2019 an album that had a whole different take on the "power metal" stereotype, the band took inspiration for the album from early Helloween albums as well as Steel Panther with songs such as "Father Time". which is an ode to a few classic songs, like Bohemian Rhapsody.

Following on the success of, Above The Sky, Majesica is set to release their follow up album, themed on the well-known story of Ebenezer Scrooge from the Charles Dickens Christmas novel “A Christmas Carol”. What makes this album a must have is the epic symphonic power metal versions of well-known Christmas songs. It is a breath of fresh air from an otherwise stale selection of Christmas albums.

“A silly dream of mine has finally come true. For many years I’ve wanted to release a Christmas album, because the atmosphere around Christmas is always so peaceful and the music with clear Christmas theme is always beautiful and very well‐written” [ Tommy Johansson]

The artwork for the album is created by artist Madeleine Andersson, who has created fan art for bands such as TWILIGHT FORCE. She has a specific style of creativity which is exactly what the band was looking for to create the album cover for "A Christmas Carol'. Tommy adds: “We wanted to have a painted artwork that could really capture the dark, cold ghostlike feeling that we sing about in the album and I’ve known her for a while and have seen what she could do. So when I asked her she was onboard right away. We’re very impressed and very happy with what she created for this album.”

With the many different voices for the many characters in the story and the broad spectrum of instruments used, fans will not only hear a new Power Metal album, but also a Power Metal Musical which will ignite the Christmas feeling in everyone.

“When it comes to the symphonic parts we’ve taken it a bit further and included a lot more orchestral instruments, including Tubular Bells, Glockenspiel and Sleigh Bells to really get that Christmas sound to it.” [ Tommy Johansson]

"A Christmas carol" releases on 04/12/2020 on all platforms. Listen to the debut single from the album here
